I have 15+ years of experience in the luxury fashion industry, working with Canadian and international brands and small businesses. I have always loved the small business, the relationships you build with your customers and your growing connections.

During the pandemic, like many others, I lost my job. Reeling from my whole world-shattering in this new world, I had difficulty figuring out what was next. What was I even passionate about anymore?

I spent more time invested in my urban vegetable garden, which tripled.Finding myself frequenting the garden centres, biking around admiring all the urban plant life, and trying to find joy in all the little things.

Feeling like I'd conquered this gardening thing, I was looking for the next challenge, facing my fear of the houseplant. So, the houseplant adventure began. Self-described 'plant killer' I decided, well, with the encouragement of my husband, why not try this houseplant thing again. So the obsession started!

One plant turned into twenty in what seems like overnight. My passion for the plants grew, and my creativity finally felt alive again. My plants brought me and continue to bring me so much joy.

So again, with a little nudge from my husband, helloplants was born. In short, I started this little plant world to share how much happiness a little plant can bring.

The idea is to make finding, growing, and caring for plants easy and fun with a bit of humour, hassle-free, and open to all new plant parents and ones whose plants are already college-bound.
